About Hudson Bend
Hudson Bend is a beautiful historic area located near Lake Travis off RR 620 a few miles south of Mansfield Dam in northwestern Travis County. Hudson Bend is named after Wiley Hudson who settled the area in 1854. During the first half of the twentieth century, the land was used for farming and ranching. Soon after Mansfield Dam was built in the 1940s, developers started creating subdivisions including Hudson Bend Colony No. 1; Hudson Bend Colony No. 2; Hudson Bend No. 3; and more recently, The Reserve at Hudson Bend. In 1978 Hudson Bend received a Texas Historical marker for its contributions to the area.
About the Homes in the Hudson Bend
Homes in the Hudson Bend area were built from the 1940s to 2000s on tree covered lots and acreage. Some of the older homes are being remodeled and have beautiful hill country and lake views. The Reserve at Hudson Bend has some of the most luxurious custom built homes on Lake Travis. Many of these homes are built on acreage waterfront lots with boat docks.
Hudson Bend Amenities
Residents in the Hudson Bend area can enjoy swimming, boating and all lake activities. There are several Marinas in the area including Paradise Cove Marina and Lake Travis Marina. Don’t own a boat? Just-for-Fun watercraft rentals is also located in the area. If you enjoy sailing, you can join the Austin Yacht Club located on Beacon Rd. in Hudson Bend.
