About Oak Parke

Originally built in the 1990s, Oak Parke is one of Austin’s older and more established neighborhoods.  Known for its wide streets, mature landscaping and tall trees, Oak Parke more closely resembles one of Central Austin’s neighborhoods.  You can expect to find one- and two-story homes between 1,900 – 3,500 sq ft with 3-5 bedrooms and 2-4 bathrooms on nearly 1/4 acre lots.

Where is Oak Parke?

Oak Parke is located in Southwest Austin near the intersection of Slaughter Lane and Brodie Lane.  The neighborhood can be accessed from Slaughter Lane at Wolftrap Drive or from Brodie Lane at Aspen Creek Parkway.  Commuting is easiest from MoPac, which is just  a mile and a half from the neighborhood on Slaughter.   Downtown Austin is 11 miles away, or a 17 minute drive.  South Austin is seven miles away, or an 11 minute drive if you get a craving for one of Austin’s local coffee shops.

Things to Do Near Oak Parke

If you enjoy the outdoors, head to Slaughter Creek Metropolitan Park for basketball courts, ball fields, picnic tables and six miles of trails.  Or, try Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center if you’re into nature.  This flower museum is home to many native North American plants and hosts several events throughout the year.  Then, head to Maudie’s, one of Austin’s local Mexican restaurants, or Brick Oven, a local pizza joint, for dinner.
