About Travis Heights
Travis Heights had its first homes built beginning in the 1890s. Development became a reality when the first streetcars were able to cross the Colorado River on a bridge leading from downtown Austin. Travis Heights historic homes range from very large Victorian to Craftsmen style, to small cottages and little bungalows. With the growth of Austin and the proximity of Travis Heights to downtown, prices have escalated greatly.

Travis Heights is in the very trendy 78704 zip code, just east of South Congress Avenue. Lady Bird Lake borders it on the north, while I-35 runs along the eastern side and Oltorf Road borders it on the south. Travis Heights Boulevard is at the center of this very historic neighborhood.
Travis Heights Amenities
Travis Heights has one of the most historic parks in South Austin. During the hot summer months, Austinites cool themselves in Stacy pool or walk along the creek that runs through Big Stacy and Little Stacy Parks. Although in the center of Austin, you can feel quite secluded because of the natural terrain and vegetation that the park has preserved. Travis Heights Elementary school is on the east side of the park.
