Southland Oaks neighborhood is located in South/Southwest Austin. To get to Southland Oaks, drive south on Brodie Lane from W. Slaughter Lane through the Shady Hollow subdivision. Southland Oaks is located on the east side of Brodie Lane between Accomac and Frate Barker. Though this real estate development is legally described as Southland Oaks, it is quite often casually considered to be part of Shady Hollow.
Southland Oaks Home Styles
Homes in Southland Oaks were first built around 1980. The expansion of the neighborhood continued through 2001. Homebuyers can find homes whose living space is as small as 1,260 sq. ft. and as large as 4,494 sq. ft. The Estates of Southland Oaks is a smaller area of development on the west side of Brodie Lane. Homes in this area are typically built on 1-acre or larger lots.
Southland Oaks and Nearby Amenities
The Southland Oaks neighborhood features its own “Villages at Shady Hollow” community center. Residents can enjoy the pool, childrens’ playscape, and a family picnic area. Nearby recreational outlets include the Metro Park at Circle C Ranch and the Mary Moore Searight Park, both located on the south side of W. Slaughter Lane. Golfers are not far from the Plum Creek and Grey Rock Golf Clubs. The closest shopping center is the Village at Shady Hollow (Brodie and Slaughter). A number of other retail centers have been added in South/Southwest Austin in recent years, including The Shops at Arbor Walk and Southpark Meadows. Children attend schools of the Austin Independent School District.
