Corky attributes her creative outlook to her upbringing. Her father was in the U.S. Air Force and he met her mother while stationed in France. (In case you’re wondering, Corky is fluent in French.) They moved around a lot before ultimately settling in the Austin area, where she has proudly called home ever since. Throughout it all, Corky learned to embrace every new opportunity, learn from each experience and make new friends throughout the journey. She’s always been a real people person, and of course, nothing is more important to her than her own family, which includes husband Jim, son Ty, daughter-in-law Rebecca, and four wonderful grandchildren. With such creativity and love of being around people, it might come as a surprise to learn that Corky’s professional career started in the field of accounting. She earned her degree in business administration and attended the University of Texas. She worked as a bookkeeper for several organizations including the Central Texas Library System, a leading computer software company and a large area church. Corky longed for a career that would allow her to be more creative, interact more directly with people and make use of her personal knowledge of real estate as an investor. This led her to earn her real estate broker’s license.
“My husband and I loved working with Corky! She listened to all of the things that were important to us in terms of location and house layout. Our phone calls and emails were quickly returned and she walked us through things to consider about each location. We relaxed knowing that she was hunting for us and would let us know when she found a good fit. Corky is easy to talk to and never pressured us to commit to a house we did not feel was the right one. Due to Corky’s hard work and quickness we now live in the perfect house for us. Thank you Corky!”

“I would recommend Corky to anyone who wants to call a house a home. In the biggest transition period in my life Corky took the time to not only listen to what was important to me personally, but when it was time to make the final decision, in an extremely competitive market, took a step further to contact the seller and explain my story. It wasn’t just the right place to live, but by shedding lite into my story, they understood that they were passing their home to someone that would appreciate it as much as they did. I was so impressed that I recommended Corky to 3 other potential buyers and she has found two of them the perfect home, and the other in progress. I appreciate the professionalism, but her understanding of what is the most important to each buyer or seller is what shines the brightest! Thank you Corky! I appreciate it more than you know.”

“My husband and I had the privilege of working with Corky of “The Real Team” at the beginning of 2014 while searching for a new home. She was a referral from one of her previous clients that had a wonderful experience and purchased a home the year before from Corky. We had been in the market for over a year and been through 3 other agents who never had time to speak or were showing us homes that were far from what we had hoped. After one phone call with Corky she set us up with several amazing options in the areas of town we were interested, the price range we were shopping in and the X-Factor that all the other realtors failed to do in the past.
Never has a home purchase been so simple, Corky showed us the right house in a number of days! She wrote a professional and personal offer and it was accepted! The closing was a breeze and Corky was accessible every step of the way! I am weary to refer people to my friends but I would not hesitate to sing her praises to someone in the market for a new home.”

“Corky Barho is the best!! She helped us sell our house, buy another house, sell a condo for us, sell my cousin’s house, and helped them buy a house, all since April. I am truly impressed with her ability to get it done.”

“In my first transaction working with Corky Barho, I was very impressed with her ability to make contact and create open communication with all parties involved in the process to work through an issue that could have potentially delayed closing – but didn’t – due to her efforts . We were on a tight timeline for closing and learned of a last minute repair that needed to be completed quickly in order for us to close on time. Corky reached out to me to ensure she was clear on exactly what was required, communicated that information to her seller and followed up with the buyer’s Realtor and I over the Thanksgiving holiday to ensure it was completed according to instruction. In the ever changing and challenging real estate market today, it is more important than ever to work with a Realtor that has the experience to navigate everyone through issues that arise and to have the confidence in themselves that they can deliver a positive outcome with as little stress on everyone as possible – and Corky did just that. She was such a pleasure to work with and I would recommend anyone looking for an experienced Realtor who is cool under pressure to work with her!”

“Corky Barho was stellar! After taking over from a previous agent she went right to work for us. I was very impressed with all facets of her ability. Our house sold and the process was seamless. I can’t express enough about how wonderful it was to have her help.”

“We were a young, newly married couple looking for a great big home to raise our three children in. It was our first time buying, so we were scared, had no idea on what to expect, and had dreams bigger than our pockets could afford. However, Corky took us in, and guided us through the whole process step by step, never misleading us, and brought us to our perfect home. She gave us all the right contacts for financing and house inspections. She gave us tips on every house we looked at, what we could change or what we might have a problem fixing. She drove us around looking at houses till we found the one we wanted. Our final house we looked at, she had come across it through a contact, and it had just been put back on the market at a reduced rate. She quickly took us to the house, and we snatched it before it was too late. Although we had difficulties with the seller’s agent, Corky never gave up, and fought for us until we had our keys in our hands. We are greatly appreciative of Corky and her husband for taking the time to find a perfect house for my family. We now live in over a 2300 sq/ft, two story, 4 bedroom, perfect location, and perfect house thanks to her. Thank you!

“Corky Barho is by far the hardest working agent I know! Her knowledge of her listings and comparables is amazing and she has the perfect personality for selling. Her passion for decor only enhances her ability to find the best house to suit each customers tastes!”
– Kathy S.
“Corky Barho was my realtor this summer as I searched for my first home. She was very helpful, especially since I didn’t know much about the home buying process at all. She was patient with my questions and very accommodating when we encountered a little scheduling fiasco (my fault). Overall, I’m really happy I chose her as my realtor.”

Our family had the privilege of working with Corky when we started looking to buy our home in Leander. As we started our journey, Corky listened to all of our wants and needs. Her expertise and knowledge of the area helped us make more informed decisions and narrow our search. Buying a home can be overwhelming, but Corky was there every step of the way to help make the process as smooth as possible. We really appreciate all of Corky’s hard work that went into searching for a home, scheduling viewings, answering questions, and ultimately helping us find our new home. Thank you Corky!
