About Wells Branch
The Wells Branch neighborhood is built around Katherine Fleicher Park. There are tennis courts and miles of hiking trails throughout the neighborhood. The park has an old 1850’s log cabin that school children can visit and learn a little Texas history. The neighborhood is in a MUD or municipal utility district. There is a community center and a recreation center, with a full sized basketball court and workout room, several swimming pools, a dog park, and small stocked pond for fishing.
This neighborhood is in north Austin between MoPac to the west and IH 35 to the east and north of Wells Branch Parkway. Many of the homes are priced so that first time home buyer and also retired people find them attractive. Most of the homes are kept neat and well groomed and the homeowners take pride in the parks. La Frontera shopping center is quite close, as is The Domain. Finding a place to have lunch or dinner is easy with those shopping areas nearby. Attending functions in downtown Austin is a fairly easy commute down IH 35 or MoPac.
