Milwood represents two areas of Austin both called Milwood and both are next to one another. One of the neighborhoods was developed in the 1970s and the other was developed in the 1980s. Both neighborhoods sit amongst mature Texas native trees in an established, highly desirable area of North Austin. Both sections of Milwood are located in North Austin on winding, tree shaded streets.
The older section sits between Duval, Parmer, McNeil and Mopac. The newer section lies within the boundaries of McNeil, Parmer and Anderson Mill. Both sections are an easy commute to downtown Austin.

The folks that live in both sections of Milwood love it there! The older homes have eclectic flavor and many are getting revitalized, mostly because the price point and location make it a good decision. There are numerous wonderful parks in the area such as the Balcones Park where you will find basketball courts and a community swimming pool. Each year a snowcone trailer sets up in the park with some of the finest snowcones you will find anywhere! Hike and bike trails meander through all of Milwood.
Amenities at Milwood
All of the conveniences for shopping and dining are in and around the Milwood neighborhoods. There are several HEBs for grocery shopping, numerous banks, drug stores and restaurants. One of the most popular stores in the area is Fry’s Electronics. Great restuarants such as Opal Divines and Cool River are close by with the latest addition of a restaurant called Weirdo’s that has sand volleyball tournaments on the courts behind the restaurant.
