About Leander TX
Leander is growing silently and many people do not realize the extent of the growth over the last 20 years. If it were not for the city signs, you may not even realize when you are leaving Cedar Park and entering Leander. Since Cedar Park is across the street from Northwest Austin, Leander is a very good suburban choice. This small town is best known for the Metro Rail now running to Downtown Austin.
This addition to Leander has been a real eye-opener for many Austinites who travel to and from work on bumper-to-bumper roadways. With Toll Road 183A to Austin, a ten minute trip and the Metro Rail, Leander is becoming known as a great suburb in Northwest Austin. Leander residents will most likely live in one of four zip codes—78641,78645,78647 or 78741.
All the major builders have chosen Leander to make their presence known. There are some really great neighborhoods in Leander such as Block House Creek, a master-planned community with two pools, five parks and sport courts. Scattered throughout Leander there are small neighborhoods with amenity centers and elementary schools. Home prices in Leander range from $100,000 to more than $1,000,000. The future for Leander homes is very bright. With the addition of the Metro Rail, there are neighborhoods on the drawing board that will be fabulous.
Leander’s Best Kept Secret
There is a group of neighborhoods in the Crystal Falls area of Leander that will really capture your heart. This section on the west side of Leander is the beginning of the Hill Country just northwest of Austin. There are breathtaking views in Grand Mesa at Crystal Falls. This is a neighborhood of custom homes on 1-7 acre tracts. Grand Mesa offers the wide open spaces of Texas with long Hill Country views. Crystal Falls Golf Course meanders through the hills here. The Fairways at Crystal Falls overlooks the golf course and has beautiful views of the Hill Country. The Highlands at Crystal Falls is also a great place to call home and has an estate section which also has great views. At the lower end of the price range in Crystal Falls is The Boulders at Crystal Falls. These homes start just under $200,000 and the amenity center has a resort type pool, sand volleyball and a great picnic area and playground.
It seems like there are schools at every turn in Leander, some so new that they only offer two grades at this time. Leander has the infrastructure for exploding growth and that includes schools. The Leander ISD has concentrated on schools with high ratings. The school district is very large geographically and extends from Leander southwest into River Place and Steiner Ranch. Schools in this district are top-notch.

No matter where your home is in Leander, you are within five to ten minutes from a shopping center, many with big box stores and major franchise retail. Lakeline Mall is 15-20 minutes away and the 1890 Ranch offers movies, gyms,food franchises and supports major shopping demands.
