Cherrywood is located just north and east of Downtown Austin. Tree-covered streets, early to mid-century homes and a population which prides itself on its diversity are just some of the characteristics that make this neighborhood one of the hottest spots in Austin for homebuyers! Tucked between Manor Road, Airport Boulevard, and IH 35 the area is comprised of a number of smaller neighborhoods which were developed from the 1930s to the 1960s. These areas, with names such as French Place, University Park, Wilshire Wood, Giles Place, Schieffer, and Avalon have joined forces to become the larger Cherrywood Neighborhood Association. The majority of these homes have pier and beam construction with hardwood floors, charming architectural details, and range in size between 1,000 to 2,000 square feet. These homes are a wonderful value for the person who wants the convenience of downtown living on a budget.
