The Creek of Driftwood is a new subdivision near Driftwood, Texas by Idea Homes. It is a gated community of custom homes set in the rolling hill country southwest of Austin. It could be considered both a suburb of Driftwood and Dripping Springs. To get to The Creek of Driftwood, take Hwy 290 west toward Dripping Springs, turn left on Sawyer Ranch Rd., then right on Darden Hill Rd. (CR 162) and drive about 1.2 miles to the community entrance on the left.
Idea Homes is building on 75 lots of .5 to 1.5 acres. These homes have more upgrades that come standard and most are 4 bedrooms. Because The Creek of Driftwood is part of the LCRA rather than a Municipal Utility District, taxes here are lower than most nearby communities. Prices range from the $300’s to $500’s for spacious 2700 – 3900 sq. ft. plans.
Dripping Springs School District serves the students living here. Both Dripping Springs Elementary and Dripping Springs High School are rated exemplary and Dripping Springs Middle School is a recognized school. Because school boundaries sometimes change, you should confirm with the Dripping Springs ISD which school is currently assigned to your address.
Golfers will appreciate that there are two nearby golf courses. Grey Rock Golf Course on HWY 45 is just 10 minutes away and Falconhead Golf Course in Bee Cave is less than a 30 minute drive. Of course you can’t live anywhere near Driftwood without visiting the Salt Lick BBQ.
