Allandale is one of many subdivisions in the Austin Texas metropolitan area. It is bound by Anderson Lane on the north, Shoal Creek at 45th Street (from MoPac to the Shoal Creek waterway, and following the waterway to Hancock Drive) to the south, with Burnet Road as its eastern boundary and MoPac as the western boundary. Allandale is served by the Austin Independent School District and Allandale Neighborhood Association.
Allandale is an eclectic neighborhood in North Central Austin dating back to the 1950s and 60s. Many of the homes in Allandale were built in the mid-century era giving the area many characteristics indicative of that time period. The area has experienced growth over the years and as a result you see a pretty good variety of home styles. One of the great aspects of Allandale is its location. Many of Austin’s favorite hangouts call Allandale home.
Allandale Shopping and Dining
Located near Koenig Lane and Burnet Road, Allandale benefits from a large and diverse mix of retail and commercial establishments. From Amy’s Ice Cream to a variety of vintage shopping spots and coffee shops, Allandale truly has a mix to fit just about anyone. Along Burnet Road you’ll see loads of vintage shopping spots, many featuring the trendy mid-century modern furnishings. Other favorites in this area are places like Yarbrough Public Library and some smaller galleries and wine bars that have recently made an appearance.
Allandale Community Features
Allandale spans Burnet Road from Koenig to North Loop. The area is quite diverse and often blends with other communities such as Rosedale.
