About The Oak at Twin Creeks
The Oak at Twin Creeks is a new home community that KB Home is developing in South Austin. The neighborhood is about midway between FM-1626 on the south and W. Slaughter Lane on the north on south 1st Street. There are two entrances to The Oak at Twin Creeks from S. 1st St., including the main entrance at Island Oak Drive. The neighborhood is just north of the Meadows at Double Creek community.
The Oak at Twin Creeks: Homes
Home sales in The Oak at Twin Creeks began in 2006, and are continuing in 2010. Builder KB Home offers new 1-story and 2-story homes with up to 5,211 square feet of living space. The homes have many features that are standard in all of its models in The Oak at Twin Creek. These features include high lower floor ceilings, privacy fences, fully sodded yards, and other elements that make these homes energy efficient.
The Oak at Twin Creeks: Neighborhood and Nearby Amenities
When you visit this neighborhood, check out the community park with its children’s play area and old windmill. There is also a walking and jogging trail for neighborhood residents. The huge oak tree that has been preserved in a park setting on the north side of the neighborhood may have been the source of the subdivision name: The Oak at Twin Creek. The neighborhood is located very near the newish Southpark Meadows retail and entertainment development, and to the multi-featured Mary Moore Searight Park. Students living in The Oak at Twin Creeks attend schools of the Austin Independent School District.
