About Meadows at Double Creek
Meadows at Double Creek is a newer home community in South Austin. From Slaughter Lane, travel south on South 1st St. to the intersection of South 1st and FM-1626. The Meadows at Double Creek is located on the NW corner of this intersection. Residents have easy access to all points Austin via IH-35 and Mopac (via W. Slaughter Lane).
Meadows at Double Creek Home Styles
Homes in the Meadows at Double Creek community are being built by Scott Felder Homes, which took over the development in 2009 from Newmark Homes. Home sales in Meadows at Double Creek actually started in early 2008. New home buyers can choose from 1-story and 2-story models in a number of builder floor plans. These homes range in size from around 1,550 sq. ft. to around 3,000 square feet. In late 2009 base prices began in the upper $190s. When it is finished, the Meadows at Double Creek will have 125 homes.
Meadows at Double Creek and Nearby Amenities
The neighborhood features a small park for residents and their children. Mary Moore Searight Park, a large municipal park operated by the city of Austin, is located just to the north of the Meadows at Double Creek (just off W. Slaughter Lane near S. 1st. Street). The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and the Veloway (for those who enjoy bicycling and rollerblading) are just a few miles away. The subdivision is also near to the newish Southpark Meadows retail center, with its Super WalMart, Target and other national and local stores, banks and eating establishments. Meadows at Double Creek students attend schools of the Austin Independent School District.
