About Fairmont Park
Fairmont Park is neighborhood of homes built between the 1960s and very early 1970s. This classic later mid-century neighborhood is made up of mostly one-story ranch style homes but it also has two-story homes as well. These homes range in size from approximately 1,200 square feet to just over 2,200 square feet. This well-established neighborhood offers large trees and mature landscaping. This neighborhood is fast becoming highly sought after due to its location and the affordability of the homes.
Where is Fairmont Park
Located in South Austin, this neighborhood is south of Ben White Blvd. and is now considered to be close to the Central Austin area. The major boundary on the north is Jones Rd., the eastern edge is Manchaca Rd., the southern boundary is W. Stassney Lane, and the western edge is Buffalo Pass. Just a few blocks away are Ben White Blvd. (Highway 290), Lamar Blvd., and just a couple of minutes further is MoPac Expressway. All of these major roadways provide quick access to Downtown Austin and other area destinations.
Fairmont Park Amenities
This neighborhood is close to Garrison District Park that has a swimming pool and playgrounds for the kids. Just a few blocks away are a number of dining, shopping, and entertainment options. Central Market and Randall’s are just blocks away. You can also walk to Regal Cinema to catch a movie and then next door to Amy’s Ice Cream and treat yourself to their wonderful ice cream. There is a Chinese Buffett as well as Madam Mam’s Thai restaurant across the street if spicy fare is what you want. There is also the Hyde Park Bar & Grill nearby for some really excellent food and a great outdoor patio.
