David Poisson lives the Austin lifestyle with a passion. He moved to Austin from Phoenix to attend The University of Texas and he appreciates every quirk and offering this town provides. David embodies the “laid back, independent spirit” of South Austin that he fell in love with when he arrived in 1986.
I was so glad I got David to list my house. The action I received was swift and he let me make the decision on pricing my home with the guidance provided by his detailed comparative market analysis. We didn’t do quite so bad on the market, 4 days until a contract was put on the house and it sold for 99% of the asking price. He goes above and beyond in caring for his clients.

Having David as my real estate agent was the best decision I made during the home selling process. He made all the complicated pieces fit together to get my house sold quickly. David was a patient, hard working person who remained calm and professional throughout the entire process. As a detailed orientated seller I expected a lot from my agent and David delivered. Of times he was willing to help out with the household repairs to ‘stage’ the house. This left a lasting impression since few other agents would do the same. In the end David even caught a title company error that ended up saving me around $1300. Working with David was a good thing all the way around.

David sold my mom’s house at 1704 Rabb Road. After interviewing five realtors, he was the only one who valued the property at close to an independent appraisal that was done prior. He was easy to work with, went above and beyond what a typical realtor would have done. He washed the windows, took out and brought in the trash cans and even made cookies for the open house. He worked very well with the family members involved. He researched and found answers to several questions brought up by the inspector and title company when they had trouble locating the information. I highly recommend David to any friends of family members trying to sell a home. We had a contract in 4 days and got 98% of the listing price.

If you really want to sell a house, David Poisson is the realtor to use. A friend of mine selected David after an extensive search of realtors in the Barton Hills area. David found a buyer for their house quickly and worked attentively with them until closing the sale. David’s use of the internet and his creativity in marketing the house through the internet is outstanding and timely. David oversaw repairs and improvements to the house to maximize its sales value. David put the for sale sign with ‘coming soon’ and started marketing it 10 days in advance of putting it on the MLS and we had a contract on the house before it even hit the market. Once the buyer was found, David kept me thoroughly informed during all the remaining steps to closing. We sold the house for 98% of the asking price. I do not believe you could find another realtor who devotes more personal attention to the sales of a house or who has a more hands-on approach to do so.

My husband is a local builder so the two of us encounter numerous local realtors in his business. I was interested in buying my first home and happened across David Poisson by chance, but will no longer go to another Realtor for our buying needs. David’s skill and attention to detail allowed our home buying process to go much smoother then it would have gone. Additionally, I was buying a foreclosure which adds a whole other level of difficulty to the picture. The home we wanted was a very modest price considering what David usually handles but he put as much time and energy ensuring our experience was the same as a client buying an extravagant home. David Poisson is honest, hard working and extremely knowledgeable, all qualities needed to make an excellent Realtor. The home buying experience should be an enjoyable one, and David ensures this.

David Poisson was great to work with in acquiring a home in the Zilker Park area of Austin, Texas. He is not only very knowledgeable about Austin Real Estate, as well as the legal paperwork, he has that personal quality that makes all the difference when you are looking for a home. He worked tirelessly for us and, while we dragged him to numerous different areas at all hours, he was always pleasant, professional and very capable. He doesn’t just show up with a lock box key, he takes an active interest in what you are trying to find and he helps you evaluate the properties with an experienced eye. We never felt pressured to sign anything. It was more like you had a knowledgeable, hard-working friend who was helping you with a very important investment decision. David is truly a pleasant professional and I would recommend him whether you are buying or selling.

In the fall of 2011 my husband and I decided that it was time to “downsize” our expenses in anticipation of my coming retirement. That meant selling the home out of which my husband ran his business and in which we had raised our children, welcomed temporarily homeless nieces and nephews, housed foreign students, and cared for our elderly parents. The house sits on a unique piece of property, just shy of an acre, in the heart of the 78704 neighborhood. We knew it that it would be challenging to market such a property in the prevailing economic environment so we interviewed a number of real estate agents prior to listing the home. We chose David Poisson of Sky Realty because he understands and embodies the ‘04 spirit and psyche and consequently appreciated the full value of the property. He suggested a listing price higher than any other realtor and, although we had had the property appraised two years earlier, David recommended another appraisal. That appraisal nearly perfectly matched his suggested listing price.
David provided suggestions that helped us ready the house for listing and took comprehensive photos to post on the website he created for that purpose. He even offered his services for cleaning, yard work, trash hauling, whatever might have been needed! Within a week of listing we accepted a full price contract on the property. As with all such transactions, however, this one had some stressful moments. Just days before closing the buyer asked for more time and the buyer’s lenders wanted to reassess the value of the property. However, with his knowledge of the business and the local community David was able to assuage their concerns and the closing proceeded on schedule.
David also helped us find our new home, a small condo in the same zip code. He was diligent in providing information and flexible in accommodating our fairly vague notions of what we wanted to spend and where we wanted to end up. When just the right place did turn up he graciously gave up his weekend to submit and subsequently help negotiate a successful, competitive contract.
I have appreciated working with David professionally and have enjoyed getting to know him personally. Behind his laid back, south Austin style he is thorough, conscientious, and knows his business. I will always be grateful for the help he provided my husband and I through this time of transition.

If you want to sell a home in Austin, David Poisson is by far the BEST real estate agent in the area! We live in another part of the state, and David handled every single detail for the listing and sale of our property in Austin, and he personally walked through every step of the selling process on our behalf.
He priced our condo appropriately, arranged for an appraisal that was right on the money, held open houses every weekend, and sold the condo in an amazingly short period of time.
After the buyers’ inspection, he even personally made the necessary repairs. Each time a glitch would arise during the closing process, he handled every detail with ease and professionalism. Nothing fell through the cracks. He even made all of the arrangements for us to sign the closing documents from different parts of the country!
He is the most detail-oriented real estate agent I have ever had the pleasure to work with. If you need to sell a home in the Austin area, you simply cannot go wrong with David. You can list your home with confidence and rest assured no detail will be left unturned. He is simply the BEST.

I selected David after 2 strong recommendations from others that had sold houses in the Zilker area, after he came in with the best market analysis, a strong marketing plan using multiple techniques and the highest potential sales price of 3 realtors. We got an excellent price for my mother’s house on Paramount and that final sales price was well above what the other realtors were quoting.
Beyond the financial aspects, David was a pleasure to work with. He knows the ins and outs of the business including such as what paperwork needs to be done to steer properly through the entire process and can help stage the house for maximum interior and curb appeal. I work for a major company that has transferred me several times and of the 8 houses I have sold, he did the best job of making all the pieces fit together for a painless and profitable event.
