Villages of Messina is located in north Leander, south of where Hwy. 183 and Hwy. 183A Toll come together. It is less than a mile west of Kittie Hill Airport and 12 miles west of I-35. FM 1431 is six and a half miles south. Hwy 29 is two and a half miles north. It is conveniently located next to the Cap Metro Rain Leander station, about .75 mile down Hwy 183. Near the station is also the new HEB Plus! grocery store and other retailers and dining establishments. You encounter more stores, banks, churches and restaurants as you proceed south on Hwy 183 into Cedar Park and Austin. Lake Travis is a great recreational diversion and can be reached in 20 minutes by car.
Village of Messina Real Estate
Homes in Villages of Messina will sell between $200,000 and the low $400,000s (as of 2012). The developer’s plans call for 713 single-family residences and an undetermined number of townhomes to be built on 260 acres. The other 82 acres will fall within Leander’s 2,300-acre TOD and contain mixed use retail, office and a school site.
Village of Messina Schools
Children of Village of Messina will attend Leander ISD schools. The new elementary will be their in-community prize, but until it’s built, they will attend Plain Elementary, less than a mile to the southwest as the crow flies. Middle school is Wiley and Rouse is the high school. Preschools and private K-12 schools can be found in nearby Georgetown (10 miles), Round Rock (14 miles), Cedar Park (five miles) and North Austin (13 miles).
