About Flamingo Condos
The Flamingo was converted from apartments to condos in 2008. That’s not to say they’re like the old apartments. They were largely redone. Almost all of the 30 units are a bit over 500 square foot 1 bedrooms with very efficient floor plans. Located at 1422 Collier Street just off of S. Lamar in Zilker, they’re well positioned for easy access to all that 78704 and Downtown Austin have to offer.
The Flamingo – Units
Flamingo units have great, very efficient floor plans and a nice finish out. There’s a coat closet when you walk in and the living room and kitchen are nicely integrated. The kitchens and baths have granite counters. The washer/dryer units are in the closets. The Flamingo is a two-story complex shaped in a square horseshoe. Residents in the downstairs units have small outdoor spaces. Those upstairs have a small balcony.
The Flamingo – The Zilker Lifestyle
Living at the Flamingo means living in the Zilker neighborhood. Zilker is one of Austin’s more sought-after neighborhoods due to its proximity to Zilker Park and Downtown Austin. It also has a highly-regarded elementary school. If Flamingo residents don’t want to enjoy their own pool and cabana, they can head to Barton Springs Pool to cool off. It’s a bit over a mile down the hill. Zilker Park and Trail are not far from that.
What’s near the Flamingo?
Glad you asked. Across the street from the Flamingo is a small officer park that has a coffee trailer and a Yoga Yoga studio. Post Properties owns the property behind The Flamingo and has had plans to build high-end apartments in a mixed-use development that includes some retail services. Saxon Pub and numerous restaurants on Lamar are within walking distance.
