About North Loop
The North Loop neighborhood has become a very trendy Central Austin location. So much so that the neighborhood now goes by the name NoLo. The North Loop neighborhood is a desirable area amongst the UT students, professors and staff because of its close proximity to the campus. It’s also a cheaper alternative compared to the sought-after and higher priced Hyde Park that borders North Loop to the south. North Loop residents take pride in their close knit community and avidly support their local businesses.
Where is North Loop?
The North Loop neighborhood is located about 26 blocks north of the University of Texas Campus. Hyde Park is North Loop’s neighboring community and is separated by 51st street which borders North Loop to its south. The North Loop neighborhood has easy access to IH 35 and can be reached by traveling W. Koenig Lane which borders the community to the north. If you’re coming from the south, you can travel up Airport Boulevard which borders North Loop to the east. North Lamar Boulevard completes North Loop’s border and lies to the west of the community.

The neighborhood is very supportive of local businesses and displays its individuality in the boutique shops, restaurants and coffee bars of the North Loop strip. Any day of the week you can stroll up these few blocks and enjoy live music, peruse the record collections at Sound on Sound or split a pitcher and a pie at The Parlor. North Loop is also known for its neighborhood block parties featuring live music, food and fun in support of their local businesses.
